2C - "Homework" for Week of March 6

Aufgabe 1) Journal Entry

We watched the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".  Write about ONE of these topics in your activity journal.  At least 125 words.  Your text should be as mistake-free (FEHLER FREI!) as possible!

1) Discuss the technology of the film.  How did Ferris and Cameron use technology to get what they wanted.  At the time (1986) the technology was cutting edge.  How has it changed?  What technology would kids use today to "fake out" their parents or skip school?

OR

2)  If you wanted to play hooky from school, what would your perfect day look like (add lots of details!)?  Who would you spend it with?  Where would you go?  What would you do?  Do you think you could get away with it? What would be the consequences at home if you got caught?

OR

3)  Discuss aspects of American culture in the film (especially the difference betwen Austrian and American schools, as seen in the movie).  In what ways are the students like you?  In what ways are they different? Consider the classrooms, the administration, the lessons (economics, literature, PE).  Do you know anybody like Ferris?  Like Cameron?  Like Charlie Sheen's character?

Aufgabe 2) Learn the vocabulary on page 46 (giving directions)

Aufgabe 3) What is a stereotype?  What is a prejudice?  (look online and find out the difference!)
